36" sword,..38" Long with steel scabbard

Decorative reproduction cavalry saber modeled after the British 1821 Pattern cavalry officer’s sword, a design widely used by mounted units during the Victorian era. Sabers of this pattern were carried by British light cavalry officers and became one of the most recognizable military sword designs of the 19th century.

The sword features the characteristic stirrup-style guard, ribbed grip with wire wrap, and a single-edged blade typical of cavalry sabers designed for mounted combat. The included metal scabbard reflects the style of period officer sabers used throughout the 1800s.

The 1821 pattern remained influential for decades and was copied by many European and American makers, becoming a classic form of cavalry sword associated with the age of horse-mounted troops.

This example is a decorative reproduction of the 1821 cavalry saber pattern, finished to reflect the appearance of historic military swords.
