This is a reproduction of a Civil War era cavalry officer’s sword, modeled after the 1840 or 1860 design and complete with a steel scabbard. It has an authentic aged patina that gives it the look and feel of an original saber once carried by Civil war horsemen.

 The brass hilt shows a warm, even tone. The blade though blunt and unmarked captures the form of the real thing.

While this piece is a reproduction, it’s a solid, well made example of the sabers used during the Civil War. The scabbard is free of dents or dings, and the overall condition makes it a great addition to any military collection or for use in reenactments.
