This piece is the Reproduction French Hanger c1730-1750 all solid brass grip and heavy strait steel blade. According to publications on the subject this style is believed to be French because of its small size strait blade and squat capstan. This piece comes with a dull blade and with a grease on the blade to prevent oxidation some care should be taken every so often to maintain the steel. Nicely detailed leather and brass scabbard included as shown The antique version can be seen in numerous volumes on the subject including "Swords & Blades of the American Revolution" by George Neumann.
