6 1/2" Long max x 2 3/8" Wide

Antique reproduction open frame mechanical rack and pinion corkscrew. The frame is likely cast brass or zinc due to the fact a magnet does not stick to it. The worm is steel.

This is a very easy to use, well designed corkscrew. It works by simply turning the side handle all the way down so the worm is at its longest. Next by rotating the top handle it will screw the worm into the cork. Next you will turn the side handle to raise the cork from the bottle using the frame for leverage on the rim of the bottle. One of the easiest to use!

The trick is making sure you start with the work at its longest so you will have plenty of room to lift the cork out. You wont have to force anything. If it comes to a stop before the cork is out enough you probably didn't have the worm out all the way to start. Its really a pretty neat item!
