Vintage-style Deputy U.S. Marshal gun butt tag / grip badge medallion with openwork star center, raised US lettering, and Deputy Marshal wording around the outer ring. The piece has an aged silver-tone finish with two small mounting holes.
This style is associated with Old West, frontier lawman, Western Americana, and replica revolver display pieces. Small badge-form medallions like this are often used as decorative gun grip tags, prop details, holster display accents, or small Western collectible pieces.
The design has the look of late 19th to early 20th century lawman badge imagery, but this example is best described as a decorative reproduction-style tag rather than an original law enforcement badge.
